I am delighted to announce that my solo exhibit, Embodied Entanglements, is now up at The Highlands in Wyomissing (Pennsylvania, USA). The official reception will be Friday, June 14th, from 5:30-8pm. All are welcome! The show will be up until early September, so feel free to stop by any time between now and then.
Working on Embodied Entanglements has been a way for me to reconnect with the field of ecological restoration: the process of assisting the recovery of natural areas that have been degraded, damaged, or destroyed (learn more here and here). Creating these pieces often felt meditative, and provided a metaphor for restoration of a more personal sort as I’ve dealt with major changes at home. I’ve already had some great conversations with people at The Highlands about the work, and I look forward to more.
Huge thanks to everyone who has supported me to make this exhibit possible!

I am currently reading The Extended Mind by Annie Murphy Paul. There’s a whole chapter called Thinking with Movement! The way my thoughts and ideas shift and develop when I dance or walk…so much finally makes sense. This book has made me marvel at what could be possible if, when we set out to “think,” we treated our interactions with the world beyond our own brains not as a luxury, but necessary and expected. It will change the way I work.
This NYT piece about creativity was a lot of fun to read. If you can’t view it, let me know and I’ll send gift access (to as many people as I can!).
I’ve lost track of how many times I’ve watched this video of Pharrell Williams and Maggie Rogers (I’m like eight years late to the party, apparently, but I’m making up for lost time!). It’s not just because of how he responds to her, or how she responds to him, or how he speaks so encouragingly, or even the song itself—though all of that is wonderful. A big part of what keeps me coming back is her response to her own work. She reached into her swirl of experiences and pulled out this personal, beautiful, relatable thing, and it moves her—literally. How I’d love to see more people sharing the best of themselves, and relating to the best in each other, too.
