Summertime, and the living is…busy! Here are some highlights.
I’m delighted to share that I will have work on display through October as part of a two-person nature-themed show at Heart and Hearth in Kutztown (Pennsylvania, USA). The opening reception for the show is Saturday, August 3rd, from 5-7pm. Amanda Morris d’Agostino and I would love to see you!
My solo show, Embodied Entanglements, will be up at The Highlands (Pennsylvania, USA), until early September. I truly appreciate the conversations and connections that this show has made possible, and I’m excited to continue to share this work. Once the Highlands show is over, “Revel:Reveal” (the ecological-restoration-themed installation portion of it), would be a great fit for a nature center. It can be re-configured to fit large or small spaces, so please contact me if you are interested in hosting!
If you’re in Colorado, please stop by the Exploring Climate Change Through Art show at the Mesa Laboratory on the campus of the U.S. National Science Foundation National Center for Atmospheric Research (NSF NCAR). Several dozen works of art are on display, including my piece “Restoration: Entangled Resilience.” This show will be up until September 20th.
Last year it was a Communi-Tree, this year it’s Feathers of the Flyway! I’m returning to Hawk Mountain Sanctuary as part of their Family Forest Fun celebration on Saturday, August 3rd from 10am to 2pm. We’ll be hand printing feathers and placing them along a raptor migration map. I’ve had a lot of fun with this project, and I’d be happy to tailor it to your theme/venue. Please contact me if you’d like to work together.
I’ll be at the Bethany Beach Nature Center for a mini-artist residency from August 14-16th, and I’ll be signing copies of High Tide for Horseshoe Crabs at Bethany Beach Books on August 15th (both Delaware, USA). I hope to see you there!

Recently, two people shared this video of Jane Kim and her process of creating the beautiful bird mural at The Cornell Lab of Ornithology. Thank you! I love hearing your recommendations.
The Cornell Lab also has some suggestions for some science-art-writing themed Creative Summer Challenges.

One of the most important things we can do for the natural world right now is to ask each other: Are you registered to vote? If you’re all set, can you help someone else register and vote, too?
